code indicates you need to replace bank 1 sensor 1. so you need to replace the sensor in rear bank exhaust manifold. Pretty straight forward job. Just get some PB Blaster and coat the sensor before you try removing it. be careful not to strip the threads

I went under the highlander, discovered there's a leak at the joint between the exhaust pipe#3 and the center exhaust pipe. Could this be the issue? Is the leak causing the A/F Sensor to fail? I am getting the Gasket to fix the leak first before replacing the A/F Sensor(have not buy) over weekend. Will post again. Do appreciate all the help & in advance. Thanks.

Replaced the manifold gasket.Muffler no longer leaking. Someone with LEXUS have the same problem on other site.He too replaced the gasket. CEL reset itself. I do not have to replace the A/F Sensor for now.

Hello,

I had the Check Engine Light go off in my 02 Highlander - the error code is P1135. Is this covered under the 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty?

Thanks!

Anyone DIY recently? I just got the P1135 CEL, and I think I hear an exhaust leak also.
